We are a small company that is committed to providing good value for money motorcycle tours without cutting corners on customer service or the standard of accommodation we use. We are all extremely passionate about riding our bikes and feel that this is reflected in our tours.

.

Do you cancel many of your tours due to lack of participants / interest?

No! We don’t cancel tours due to lack of interest or participants.

.

What difference is guided tours?

Guided tours are fully led by a professional guide who will stay with you throughout the duration of the tour. We use a simple drop off system explained HERE which enables the group to ride together without anybody getting lost and allows everybody to ride at their own pace. There will be no need to read maps etc although we do still provide comprehensive maps and GPS data which will allow you to ride separately from the main group should you wish.

.

Is the tour guide always available?

We personally accompany you on all of our tours whether it be a European or Adventure tour. We will always be available to help with any problems or questions you may have.

.

If I book a shared room, who will I share with?

If you book with a friend (in pairs) you will share a room with your friend. If you are booking alone and book a shared room we will try our best to pair you up with somebody compatible. But at the end of the day we are all bikers!

.

I’m coming on tour by myself, will I fit in?

Yes absolutely! Everybody is welcome, we get a mixture of small groups (2 or 3 people), couples and solo riders on all our tours. One of the main benefits of doing an organised tour is meeting new people and making new friends. As soon as you meet everybody else you instantly have something in common – Motorcycling!

.

What information will I receive?

We will send you details of your Eurotunnel crossing, meeting point and hotel information including full addresses and telephone numbers. You will also receive our comprehensive tour manual including detailed GPS coordinates, suggested kit list, documents you require.

.

I have never been on a tour before, will I hold everybody up?

No. This is a tour, not a race. Whenever there is a group of riders, you will inevitably get a wide range of experience and riding abilities. You are encouraged at all times to ride within your own capabilities. On our guided European tours we use a simple drop off system, which allows every rider to ride at their own pace without holding anybody up. You will never be pressured to ride faster than you want to.

.

I have never toured abroad before. Do I need any experience?

We give a brief description of how much experience we feel you need for each particular tour included within the itinerary. No two riders are alike, but you do need to be comfortable with the daily mileages. That said, because of the lack of traffic and better quality roads many people find riding on the continent far easier than in the UK. There is no better way to gain experience than actually taking the plunge and giving it a try.

.

Will my bike be suitable?

We welcome all style of bikes 600cc and above on our easy tours.

I’m afraid we do not cater for cruiser style bikes on our intermediate and difficult tours unless you are prepared to self-navigate or by prior agreement. If you are in any doubt about your bikes suitability please do not hesitate to contact us.

.

Do I have to ride with the group?

No. If you prefer to make your own way to the hotels, either alone or as part of a small group our comprehensive tour pack contains everything you’ll need including detailed GPS data which you can load into your Sat Nav, making self-navigation easy.

.

Are women welcome on our tours?

Yes absolutely. It seems that more and more women are leaving the pillion seat and becoming riders themselves. We think this is excellent and welcome women along on all our tours.

.

Do you ride everyday on tour?

On our short tours of 6 days and under we will generally ride every day. On our longer tours, we build in rest days, staying in interesting locations that give you the chance to relax and explore your new surroundings.

.

What happens if it rains whilst on tour?

You get wet!

.

Can I pay in instalments?

We do not have any scheme for instalment payments.

.

Will my motorcycle insurance cover me in Europe?

Most insurance companies give European cover as standard these days, but you do need to check that it covers each country we visit. It is your responsibility to make sure you have adequate insurance cover for the trip you are about to partake in.

.

Do I need travel and breakdown insurance?

We insist that all our customers take out some form of Personal Breakdown cover. This is essential for repatriation of yourself and your motorcycle in the event of an accident or medical emergency.

.

What do we do in the evenings?

We always strongly encourage the group to stay together in the evenings, having a few beers and a nice meal together after a great days ride really finishes the day off nicely. The evenings play a big part of the tour experience, anecdotal stories and general banter are encouraged, this is when you get time to know your fellow riders better and make new friends.

.

Where do we eat lunch?

We normally use local bakers for sandwiches but we may stop in a roadside café, or sometimes just enjoy a snack during a fuel stop. We do not do big sit down meals at lunchtime. The primary reason for this is it simply takes too long, continental service is normally far more relaxed (slower) than in the UK. Whatever happens, we will not see you go hungry.

.

Is my payment safe?

The 1992 Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tours Regulations require all holiday organisers to safeguard against insolvency. In accordance with the regulations Atlas motorcycle tours will hold all clients monies in trust until such a time as your tour is complete.

.

What should I bring?

The best advice is to pack light, only take what you need. We provide a suggested kit list included in our tour pack.
